Who we are
AI in Finance Association (AFA) is an independent, not-for-profit association. We are based in Australia and our website and membership activities are operated from Australia.
For privacy matters, we act as the organisation responsible for the personal information we collect. You can contact us using the details at the end of this notice.
What personal information we collect
We collect personal information that is reasonably necessary to manage expressions of interest in AFA membership and to communicate with you.

- LinkedIn profile URL, if you choose to provide it;
- your reasons for joining AFA; and
- your consent preferences for communications.
We do not collect sensitive information (such as health information, racial or ethnic origin, or political opinions) through our website or membership form unless you voluntarily provide it.
Why we collect personal information
We collect personal information to:
- assess and respond to expressions of interest in AFA membership;
- communicate with you about AFA activities, events and updates;
- understand the composition and interests of our community;
- plan working groups, roundtables and educational programs; and

If we become aware of a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm to you, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Access and correction
Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), you have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you and to ask for it to be corrected if it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading.
